Spinal Health is Serious Business
Anyone who has experienced spinal pain can tell you that it one of the worst experiences a person can endure. While the average person doesn’t spend too much time thinking about their spine, to a person with spinal health issues, their spine is the only thing they can think about. Think of your spine the same way you think about the foundation of a home; if the foundation experiences issues, the entire home experiences issues. When your spine is not doing well, the rest of your body tends to suffer, leading to a multitude of ailments that can severely impact your quality of life. To address spinal health and orthopedic issues, Dr. Techy is proud to offer the following procedures in addition to the procedures we listed in our previous blog.
- Radiofrequency Ablation: Chances are, unless you have experienced orthopedic health issues, you have never heard of radiofrequency ablation. However, for those individuals suffering lower back pain, radiofrequency ablation, or RFA as it is commonly referred to, can help to finally bring them relief. RFA utilizes radio waves to help treat back pain by ablating damaged tissue using the heat generated from the said radio wave emissions in the form of an electrical current. This electrical current can be directed to painful nerve to negate their ability to transmit pain signals to the brain. This procedure is especially beneficial to those patients suffering from cervical, lumbar, or sacroiliac pain and is a viable alternative to steroid injections in some cases.
- Kyphoplasty: This procedure is a variation of a vertebroplasty and is attempted when trying to restore the height and angle of kyphosis, an abnormal curvature of the spine, in cases involving a fractured vertebra. While this procedure is one of the more invasive ones that we offer here at ClinTech Center for Spine Health, it is often needed in cases where traditional therapy methods are not able to properly heal the affected vertebra. During this procedure, a small balloon is inflated in the vertebral body to create a space. This space is then filled with bone cement in order to properly align the vertebra to its natural position. This procedure can often be completed at our clinic and is conducted using x-ray guidance to ensure the utmost accuracy.
- Spine Surgery: When all other therapy options are exhausted, or the spinal injury is too severe to be treated by therapy, Dr. Techy and his team will resort to spinal surgery. Dr. Techy has a wealth of experience in relation to spine surgery and is adept at alleviating pressure and pain in the same while also restoring mobility and flexibility in patients of all ages. The ClinTech team have helped hundreds of Northern Colorado residents with issues relating to the spine and are able to perform cervical fusion, lumbar fusion, lumbar decompression, lumbar microdiscectomies, and artificial cervical disc replacement procedures.
